Licques is a rural village of 1,500 well-known for its poultry farming.
\nIt is the capital of turkey breeding in France and the main centre for Label Rouge traditional free range poultry.<\/p>\n
A turkey festival takes place every year over a weekend at the beginning of December.\u00a0 This large traditional gathering includes a street procession of turkeys, tasting sessions, sale of local products and meals hosted in marquee tents.
\nFor the walking enthusiasts there are miles of footpaths to explore in Licques and the surrounding countryside.<\/p>\n
At the bottom of the valley, these paths follow little streams, and walking along the surrounding hilltops will reveal the valley in all its splendour.<\/p>\n
